Lavazza & Italian Restaurant sits tucked inside Pudong’s riverside park, offering a blend of casual cafe vibes and full-service dining with a decidedly western-Italian leaning. From its spot along the Bund riverfront, it’s a place that draws both locals and visitors looking to unwind with well-crafted pasta or pizza while soaking in the water views, especially as the evening light softens over the Huangpu River.

The restaurant feels most alive around mealtimes when groups settle in for a relaxed dinner, often without the fuss of reservations. The staff tends to be welcoming and efficient, helping visitors secure a table comfortably even on busier nights. The setting strikes a balance between approachable and scenic — it’s neither overly formal nor just casual grab-and-go, making it a solid spot for casual dining or a leisurely meal with friends or family.

The menu’s highlight, pasta served with Wagyu beef sauce, reflects a focus on elevated Italian staples with a local twist. While some find certain dishes a bit pricier, the consensus leans toward solid quality and portions well matched to the price. Pizza and pasta stand out as reliable picks, capturing the essence of Italian flavors without straying too far from familiar territory.

What truly distinguishes Lavazza here is the combination of food and setting. The views overlooking the river and glimpses of the iconic Bund skyline create a relaxed yet pleasant backdrop that enhances the dining experience. It’s a spot where you can settle in to enjoy your meal and watch the rhythms of the riverfront unfold, whether on a sunny afternoon or into the early evening glow.

This is a place well suited for diners who appreciate a straightforward Italian meal with waterfront ambiance, especially those who want to pair good wine with their pasta or pizza. It’s not for those seeking authentically rustic Italian or adventurous menus, but it fills a nice niche for a relaxed western-meets-Asian city vibe with a health-conscious leaning on its menu options.
